MLB The Show 22: How to complete 99 OVR Hall of Fame David Ortiz Program
David Ortiz, a former Red Sox player, will be enshrined in Cooperstown, New York's Baseball Hall of Fame in July. On July 20, San Diego Studios published a special episode of MLB The Show 22 Diamond Dynasty to pay tribute to the legendary first baseman. Players of MLB The Show have the opportunity to participate in this promotion for a chance to win a 99 OVR Prime series card of David Ortiz and some XP for the ongoing campaign. How do you obtain this card, then? Let's look at it.
How to complete the Hall of Fame Ortiz Program
You must earn 34 points in order to finish this program in its entirety. The benefits that can be attained with this program are as follows:
- 4 Points – MLB The Show 22 pack
- 8 Points – Superfractor profile icon
- 12 Points – 75 OVR Rookie David Ortiz
- 16 Points – Headliners Set 27 pack
- 20 Points – Red Sox 2009 Road Jersey
- 24 Points – Headliners Set 30 pack
- 28 Points – MLB The Show 22 pack (x5)
- 32 Points – Hall of Fame Bat
- 34 Points – 99 OVR Prime David Ortiz
The program's main prize is an unmistakable 99 OVR David Ortiz. You should aim to execute the following in order to reach the 34-point mark in the cleanest manner possible:
- Complete the 10 Moments (20 pts. – 2 pts. each)
- Complete the five Ortiz and Red Sox Parallel PXP Missions (14 pts.):
- Tally 350 PXP with 75 OVR David Ortiz in Ranked Seasons, Battle Royale, Events, Play vs. CPU, Mini Seasons, or Conquest (2 pts.)
- Tally 500 PXP with Red Sox in Ranked Seasons, Battle Royale, Events, Play vs. CPU, Mini Seasons, or Conquest (1 pts.)
- Tally 1,500 PXP with Red Sox in Ranked Seasons, Battle Royale, Events, Play vs. CPU, Mini Seasons, or Conquest (3 pts.)
- Tally 3,000 PXP with Red Sox in Ranked Seasons, Battle Royale, Events, Play vs. CPU, Mini Seasons, or Conquest (5 pts.)
- Tally 15 home runs with Red Sox in Ranked Seasons, Battle Royale, Events, Play vs. CPU, Mini Seasons, or Conquest (3 pts.)
The two exchanges for this program can be ignored in favor of the missions and moments, much like with many of the other programs that have gone live in MLB The Show 22. Except, of course, if you choose not to finish some of the moments. By performing the two swaps, one for Red Sox players (1 point) and the other for AL East players (3 points), up to two of the moments may be bypassed. But avoiding those exchanges will result in a saving on stubs.
Putting together a team of Red Sox players and using those cards in Conquest or Mini Seasons is probably the best approach to finish the missions. You can grind through various conquests and/or mini-seasons that way without being constrained by internet play. Once you have the 75 OVR Ortiz unlocked, add that card to your hand. Users can earn 15,000 XP toward the All-Stars of the Franchise Featured Program by fully completing this program and earning the 99 OVR Ortiz. Locate the Ortiz collection under "Collections for the Franchise Program All-Stars." Take the 15,000 XP and lock the card inside.
