No Man’s Sky: How to build new rooms in your Freighter

The No Man's Sky Endurance update radically redesigned how freighters function in the game. They can now function as mobile bases, letting you transport everything you would typically need for a planetary base on the go and keep you near a Large Refiner or greenhouse at all times. This manual shows how to construct new rooms in your Freighter so you can get started right away.

How to build rooms in your Freighter

You can explore the many passages in your freighter and add additional rooms as you go. Press the construction button (the up directional button on the controller) to access the build menu and begin building a room. This displays each room that can be constructed with the blueprints you have so far gathered. Choose the room you want to construct, then put it wherever you please. Only one restriction applies—these rooms must be connected to other rooms or hallways in your freighter. So if you wish to increase the size of the Freighter and its rooms, create a new corridor.

How to get room Blueprints for your Freighter

Without blueprints, you cannot add extra rooms to your freighter. These operate exactly as they do in any other situation. To unlock them and then build the object, you must first make a purchase. The Freighter Upgrade Terminal is where you can obtain blueprints for the rooms in your freighter. This can be found in the Bridge of your freighter and is accessed through the main computer.

When you locate the proper icon on the computer, click on it to access the menu. After that, you can buy fresh blueprints to use in the construction of rooms. You may now buy new cosmetic Blueprints for your Freighter here. Be aware that each Blueprint requires particular components to be unlocked, which may need traveling to other systems and negotiating with a few aliens.
