To defeat it, you should cooperate with other trainers. How likely are you to capture a shiny Xurkitree in Pokémon Go, given how few there will be?

Is there a shiny version of Xurkitree in Pokémon Go?

We can confirm that when Xurkitree comes in five-star raids, there won't be a shiny form of it available in Pokémon. As long as you have a raid pass, you are free to keep finding and fighting Xurkitree. When you go to catch it at the conclusion of the battle, the shiny version won't be there, so you won't be able to add it to your collection. You should only fight Xurkitree more than once if you can find one with superior stats.

This is what Niantic will do with each Pokémon when they first appear in the game. The shiny version won't typically be accessible or visible until after the next time it is highlighted in an event. We will need to wait for a more major opportunity before adding Xurkitree to our collection, so it won't be featured right away. Before this, Nihilego, which will be the first Ultra Beast to show up in Pokémon Go, may first appear in its shiny form.

We anticipate Niantic will eventually release a shiny form of this Pokémon, maybe in a year or two. Hopefully, the team is moving toward hosting an event, including Xurkitree, in a year. The Niantic team has not confirmed whether this will be the case.
