The fourth biome in Cult of the Lamb, the spider-filled Silk Cradle, is ruled over by Shamura. Shamura joins the other bishops in transforming before the battle, becoming an enormous spider to fit in with the surroundings. Read on to find out how to get rid of this spidery boss, and don't let arachnophobia stand in your way.
How to beat Shamura
As long as you keep going, Shamura—the last of the four living bishops—might appear to be a little simpler than some of the previous rulers. Throughout the entire battle, you must stick and roll. That holds true for both Shamura and the newly incorporated spider henchmen. You should be accustomed to them since you battled them in the Crusades before the boss battle. Just watch out for all the ground targets as the spiders swing on and off the screen. In general, if you keep your eyes on the ground, you can avoid most of Shamura's ranged attacks.
The other is a shower of smaller poison dots, whereas the first rains down huge bombs. To protect your health, avoid the flashing targets in both situations. It should help that the poison spots only appear later in the battle. The melee assaults of Shamura might occasionally be more difficult. Leaning back for a long time foreshadows the lunge, giving you time to roll away before the actual strike. When Shamura swings off-screen, the maneuver becomes more difficult. This time, the aim is different; to find the area to avoid, and check for Shamura's shadow on the ground.
The last strike Shamura possesses is a hop followed by a blast of a few fireballs, which is both a melee and a ranged attack. It's definitely advisable to withdraw once you notice this happening and concentrate on the minions instead of battling the main monster once more. Be careful not to walk in front of the fireballs as they pass by on the screen. Shamura is no pushover, but if you follow all the cues from the ground, you'll come out on top. The entrance to The One Who Waits will finally be unlocked following this battle.
