IdolNinja Mike Watson was an active Saints Row modder who attracted the notice of the game's creator, Volition. Watson later held the position of community manager for the game with great success. On August 21, 2021, the day the first trailer for the Saints Row remake was released, Watson tragically departed. He had stage 4 cancer and had to resign from his position as community manager in May 2021 as a result of his condition, although he continued to work on the Saints Row 2 patch project. Watson noted at the time.
It is entirely my decision to use my final days to help with it. I have always been given the option to quit the project with a solemn promise to see that it is completed without me by both Deep Silver and Volition, who have both been wonderfully supportive. This man was unwaveringly committed to the Saints. And to show their appreciation, Volition named an entire tower in the game after Watson, complete with a fountain monument featuring his likeness and a plaque providing a written ode. Without a doubt, it is a proper homage.

Between the Kiss, Me, and Impressions apparel stores in Lakeshore South is where you can find the Watson Tower. The tower dominates a little triangular block there that the tower touches. On the northeast side of the structure, the fountain memorial stands in front. A plaque with Watson's likeness underneath reads,

The mod with the name Gentleman of the Row was the one that solidified Watson's position as Saints Row's top modder. It was a mod for the original game's port that addressed so many of its problems that the majority of players thought it was crucial. Additionally, Watson created a number of mods for later games in the series and rose to prominence within the fan base. He is and will always be missed.
