In Splatoon 3, you can employ a brand-new bow and arrow weapon called the Tri-Stringer. The Tri-Stringer is the first weapon with this design, whereas the majority of the armory typically consists of guns or melee weapons. To cover the ground, it releases three arrows in a small spread. Here are some tips on how to utilize the Tri-Stringer in Splatoon 3 if you have already tried it and are having trouble.
How to best use the Tri-Stringer in Splatoon 3
As you might expect, the Tri-Stringer has a respectable range, but how you use it will determine that. Simply tapping ZR will launch a rapid shot that intermittently covers the space in front of you. Holding down ZR causes the bowstring to draw back and charge for a longer-range shot. There are two levels to this, and both will release paint tubes that will eventually explode. Long-range shots are closer together, whereas medium-range shots are more dispersed. These do additional damage to nearby adversaries, but not enough to eliminate them in a single shot.
While shooting from the ground causes your arrows to fly apart, shooting from the air causes your arrows to form a vertical configuration. To swiftly modify the pattern, hop and shoot. Tap away and cover as much ground as you can with your ink when there are no adversaries nearby while covering the ground. Shoot as many arrows at an adversary who approaches you as you can. Despite the Tri-limited Stringer's damage capability, if you are precise and hit your targets, you should have a good chance of taking them out.
Use the charged shots only against adversaries that are farther away and at a higher altitude than you. Rely on fast fire in all other circumstances because the charge time exposes you to attack.
