Sydney Sweeney, the actress of Euphoria, came under fire when she and her brother shared pictures from their mother's surprise 60th birthday party, where partygoers were donning "MAGA-inspired caps" and at least one "blue lives matter" shirt.
Sweeney shares a family photo with an Instagram carousel she's put on her profile, in which one person is wearing a "blue lives matter" shirt. Sweeney started trending on Twitter after prominent gossip website PopBase published pictures of the party. Internet sleuths discovered that partygoers had also been sporting "Make Sixty Great Again" MAGA hats. Fans noted that the 24-year-old actress posted the blue lives matter shirt on her public feed even though she isn't seen wearing anything controversial herself. And while Sweeney refrained from posting any pictures of herself wearing a red hat, her brother Trent's Instagram account featured them.
Despite Euphoria and White Lotus's and the general acceptance of their music, Sweeney has notably shied away from the spotlight. The twice-nominated actress for an Emmy announced her engagement in March after being seen sporting a diamond ring. But earlier this summer, Sweeney became a trend on Twitter after she told the Hollywood Reporter that, despite her fame, she had trouble paying her bills.
You guys this is wild. An innocent celebration for my moms milestone 60th birthday has turned into an absurd political statement, which was not the intention. Please stop making assumptions. Much love to everyone ♥️ and Happy Birthday Mom!

One of the images that SS shared shows her with an older man, her grandmother, what appears to be her grandmother and three other adults. One of them is her mother, the blonde woman. Although we don't fully know who he is, he might also be related. People are focusing a lot of attention on this guy's clothing, which appears to be a Blue Lives Matter shirt and is symbolized by a black and white flag with a blue stripe running through the centre.
In other images and videos, participants can be seen sporting red MAGA-style caps that read "Make Sixty Great Again" on the front. Trent, her brother, uploaded this, making sure to emphasize that's exactly what they stated. But the mere fact that they are worn at all is under fire. If you look at the "Sydney Sweeney" trend right now, you'll see that some are sarcastically speculating about where her family was on January 6 and anticipating the release of an apologetic video.
Of course, there are a ton of suppositions and theories being thrown around about this, but they are still being made. The fact that her family seems to be relatively right-wing, or may lean that way, has actually surprised some Sweeney fans. Just so you know, Sydney is from Washington State but was born and raised in Idaho. Even if her family is conservative, it's not the terrible sin that Twitter is portraying it to be.
