Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2: How to fix the can’t rope down bug in Prison Break

The 14th mission in the Call of Duty campaign is Prison Break, and it's a challenging, action-packed one. The base where Alejandro and his Mexican Special Forces are stationed has been taken over by Shadow Company CEO Phillip Graves and is being run like a prison. Your objective is to escape from there before Shadow Company sends reinforcements while also saving Alejandro and his guys.

What to do if you can’t rope down at the end of Prison Break

After the "release Alejandro" problem, this is the second typical advancement bug in the Prison Break mission. This one is much more aggravating because it occurs at the very end of a lengthy mission and prevents you from performing the exact last action required to finish it. Price will give the command to depart after you've joined him atop the base's walls and defeated the last waves of Shadow Company mercenaries and vehicles, but some players are finding that they can't because their NPC allies won't move out of the way and let them reach the rope.

Alejandro is expected to assist Rodolfo in climbing the wall after you take out the snipers on the roof across from you. Then, they both run behind Price and descend the rope with Gaz and Ghost. Some players may not see Rodolfo, which delays the sequence of other NPCs departing, causing them to remain on the wall and obstructing your exit. After you take down those snipers, keep a close eye on Alejandro and Rodolfo while staying far away from them. It's obvious that whatever caused the bug is happening right about now.

There is a fix if the bug still manifests itself. Lie down and continue to advance toward the NPCs obstructing the path. Additionally, keep launching smoke bombs to keep the invisible snipers on the opposing building from shooting you (the iron barrier won't shield you on its own). The NPCs will occasionally be shot by sniper fire while you're doing this, causing them to collapse. Sometimes they immediately get back up, but other times the sniper bullet will serve as a reminder and they will move out of the way so you may reach the rope and descend.
