God of War Ragnarok: How to complete In Service of Asgard

One of the earliest sidequests you can choose to do in God of War: Ragnarok is "In Service of Asgard." In Ragnarok, sidequests are referred to as "favors," and each one will provide you with a different reward and experience point. Even certain sidequests must be completed in order to access hidden assignments. In God of War Ragnarok, this tutorial will explain how to finish In Service of Asgard.

Steps in the In Service of Asgard Quest

You will learn of a character by the name of Durin and be given the sidequest "In Service of Asgard" after arriving in the town of Nidavellir in Svartalfheim. You must locate and destroy three distinct rigs strewn across the Bay of Bounty area in order to finish this task.

Modvitnir’s Rig

The Watchtower's first mining rig that you will encounter Jump onto the sand and start climbing the first mining rig of this quest. Once you arrive at a clearing with a sizable gap, continue on the route and ascend toward the rig. Rotate the Leviathan axe until the grappling point is within reach, then aim it at the distant crane. When the grapple point can assist you in reaching the next available platform, grapple across and then rotate the crane. Climb the chain, drive the adversaries back, and take out the first mining rig.

Radsvinn’s Rig

The Watchtower dock is the only way to get to this rig. Run through Sindri as soon as you land, then turn toward the blue target marker. You will arrive at the second mining rig after scaling two cliffs. You'll find a pack of Grims waiting for you. After eliminating these adversaries, proceed to the furnace to turn off your first mining rig. To get to the last mining rig, go back to the boat.

Althjof’s Rig

Althjof's Rig, which is located deep into the Bay of Bounty, is the third and final stop. Compared to the previous rig, this one requires more effort to shut down. As soon as you get here, climb the chain to the clearing above. Move to the big center block and disregard the lever wheel that is in front of you. Pull this block down using the flame latch. Once you've finished, go back to the lever and pull the grappling point down one level with it.

Jump over the blocks, then grapple all the way to the end. Utilize the blades to set the explosive barrel on fire and knock down the wall. Go through the next clearing and use your left hand to grab onto the ledge. Before you unlock the locked gate, circle the platform and break the chain shortcut. To destroy both walls, open the gate, descend, and detonate the barrel. You demolish both walls. Go through the gate on the left and climb the walls. Continue to shimmy until you can get to the ledge above. Use the bottom promptly to break through the floor's cracks.

Clear out the two Draugr that are waiting for you as you land. The core block can then be raised using a flame latch. Using the gates you demolished before, go back to the first lever, raise the grappling point as high as it will go, then use the chain shortcut you unlocked earlier to ascend the wall next to the lever. Reach the middle block, then jump and grapple your way through the openings. Climb the opposite end of the wall.

Once you beat the upcoming enemy ambush, you can turn off the mining rig's engine. In order to finish the In-Service of Asgard task, you must destroy all three mining rigs before going back to Sindri. When you close a mine, you receive a rare ore that Sindri or Brok can use to make Nidavellir's Finest armor set for you. It has great health and strength increases and will keep you going during the campaign's second act.
