Seahawks LB Darrell Taylor may have suffered a serious injury late in the game

In the fourth quarter of the Seattle Seahawks' 23-20 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night, defensive end Darrell Taylor was carried off the field on a stretcher. Taylor was down for several minutes near middle before being placed on a stretcher, his helmet still on but his facemask removed. As Taylor received medical assistance, both teams formed a ring around him.

Taylor was rushed to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center by ambulance, and Seahawks public relations told NBC's Michele Tafoya that he was able to move all of his limbs.

Former Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier tweeted that he was praying for Taylor after suffering a devastating spinal cord injury in a game that left him unable to walk and ended his career.

Taylor, a second-round pick out of Tennessee last year, missed his rookie season due to a leg ailment that he sustained during his final college season. He's been Seattle's best pass rusher this season, with four sacks in the first five games leading the team.

During Sunday's game, Taylor recorded three total tackles and a quarterback hit. With just over three minutes remaining in the game, the Steelers and Seahawks are deadlocked at 17 points apiece.
