For the Bungie 30th Anniversary celebration, a new activity called Dares of Eternity has been added to Destiny 2. When you come on after downloading the update, the first thing you'll do is join this six-person matchmaking event.

After that, go to the Director's main map and click on the Eternity icon to enter the mode. It can be found right below the Moon. Then, to load into the event, select the Dares of Eternity option. If you're playing alone, you'll be instantly added to a party.

After that, you'll have to fight your way through several rounds of adversaries and tasks until the bar is full, at which time you'll face the ultimate boss. Each mini-event is, for the most part, rather basic, requiring you to just defeat foes. You may come across a shield enemy who needs the shields to be taken away with energy weapons dropped by weaker adversaries from time to time. There's also a Take Blight to destroy, which you can do by tossing orbs you get from murdering other Taken at it.

In general, it's rather simple to figure out as you play. After you've defeated the final boss, you'll be able to open a chest that contains a Treasure Key at the end of the event. The key can then be used by returning to Eternity and speaking with Xur at his Treasure Horde.
