God of War: How to beat Sigrun

Sigrun is God of War's most difficult boss, and there aren't many other fights that compare to her. It's only natural that getting to this fight takes a long time and involves eight other boss fights. Once players reach Sigrun at the Council of Valkyries, they will face combat that will test their patience and comprehension of Valkyrie's attacks.

The Valkyrie Queen, unlike other enemies in God of War, has the capacity to practically merge all of the attacks that players have encountered on previous bosses and employ them to tremendous effect.

Tips for taking on Sigrun in God of War

Before knowing what each move means when fighting this last monster, gamers should keep the following ideas in mind to make the fight much easier to manage from the start. Players must play smarter than ever before and manage everything they have due to the length of the battle and all of the variables involved.

First and foremost, players should remember to take their time during this battle and react to nearly anything Sigrun does. Many battles in God of War encourage players to be aggressive and eliminate foes before they can pose a significant danger.

In this encounter, aggression will only lead to an early demise, thus players must have patience and foresight. The ability to anticipate each Valkyrie move will allow gamers to adapt to any situation. Another important consideration for participants is resource management. It's tempting to use one's powers or Spartan Rage as quickly as possible, but patience is suggested here as well.

There are some moves throughout the fight that can cause the arena to fog up or make Kratos blind. The Spartan Rage can save the entire run in this situation, and it should be employed defensively rather than aggressively.

The types of moves that Sigrun will use in the fight

In God of War, there are eight more Valkyries, each with their own set of moves to use against Kratos. Sigrun can use all of their moves, thus players will need to keep track of what happens after each of the Valkyrie Queen's animations.

The first animation they must contend with is flying. She can blind Kratos, jump on top of him, dash across the arena, and even throw projectiles while in the air. In all of these situations, players should be prepared to block or avoid.

She'll then use a lot of grounded assaults. Players should be prepared to parry on the ground, whether she employs her scythe or spear. If she hides in her wings, a simple double-tap of the block can easily breach her guard. Ground fighting relies on parry, whereas air combat is best avoided. All of these can be incorporated into combinations, making the fight even scarier.

The Sigrun fight, especially at high difficulty, is guaranteed to take a lot of tries. Patience in God of War can spare you a lot of heartaches, much like it did for Kratos in this fight.
