How to transfer your Grand Theft Auto V campaign save to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X

GTA V Expanded and Enhanced is the long-awaited PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game that GTA fans have been waiting for. If you've invested dozens, if not hundreds, of hours into Franklin, Michael, and Trevor's journey, you'll understandably want your save data to follow you. Fortunately, you are capable of doing so. Here's how to get your Grand Theft Auto V campaign saved onto your PlayStation 5 or Xbox One X.

Making a Rockstar Social Club account is the first step in transferring your Grand Theft Auto V campaign save. If you've ever played Grand Theft Auto Online, you've probably already made one of them. Sign up for an account on the website. Then, under your profile, go to Settings and choose Linked Accounts. Make sure your PlayStation and Xbox accounts are linked.

After that is taken care of, start GTA V and go straight to the story mode. When the game has loaded, pause it and go to the Game tab. Select the save file you wish to take over by clicking Upload Save Game. You'll be asked to confirm that you want to move that save to your Rockstar Social Club account on a screen. At any given time, only one save file per platform can be present.

Once you have confirmation that your file has been transferred, you may start up Grand Theft Auto V on the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X and download the file to resume your game precisely where you left off. Simply pause the game, go to the Game tab, and select Download Save Game from the drop-down menu.
