Tunic: How to get the lantern

Your mission to ring the Western Bell in Tunic will lead you across the Overworld and the West Garden, which are both gorgeous places. It will also take you underneath, where you will explore Under the Well and the Dark Tomb. It's extremely important to search out a light source before entering the Dark Tomb because it gets really dark down there. Tunic, thankfully, gives one: a lantern. Continue reading to learn how to obtain it.

The lamp can be located in Tunics Under the Well location, which is reached by a ladder north of the Old Town Ruins in the Overworld's central region. It's easy to become lost in the Well, but persevere through the many foes and you'll soon discover a few shortcuts that will make your journey much easier.

Circumambulate the well until you reach the map's bottom-left corner. Climb the ladder to the south (don't forget to check out the secret door up here for a couple of goodies). You'll be back out in the Overworld after passing through a pitch-black room — don't worry, that won't be an issue for long — and following a shining purple route to the area beneath the Western Bell.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to ring the bell from this level, but you can collect the lantern that sits on the corner of the platform that houses the central monolith.

You'll be able to navigate the pitch-dark parts of the Well and, eventually, the Dark Tomb, with this in hand. It's not strictly necessary for navigating, but it'll make things a lot easier. Consider praying at the monolith for a small secret back in the Well before you leave.
