Diamond Dynasty's conquests are back in MLB The Show 22. For those unfamiliar with MLB The Show, Conquests is a single-player game in which players compete against computer-controlled teams. However, there is a catch. Each time, it has established its own home base and territories in a very Civilization-like fashion. You'll need to eliminate those teams from the map if you want to win. So, do you need to know anything else about Conquests? Let's go through our MLB The Show 22 primer for them.

The basics

The ultimate goal of Diamond Dynasty Conquests is to conquer all of the regions on the map. The hexagonal figures on the screen represent territories. Colored figures, which will also display either a team logo or a number, denote that a team already controls that particular area, whereas empty figures indicate that the territory is free and can be taken over.

Conquest values its fans greatly. The letter M stands for "fans," which simply means "manpower." The more supporters you have, the more territory you can conquer and the more effectively you can defend against competing teams. Why? Conquest, on the other hand, does include imitating.

Regular territories can be taken over simply by simulating through the game, except by conquering a rival's home site (denoted by a team logo). To do so, choose one of your fancier regions and a competing territory. This will start a fight. Battles can only take place between territories that share a boundary. You'll have the option of playing the game or simulating it. Unless you're searching for practice, we advocate simulating in almost all cases.

The phases

You'll need to familiarise yourself with a variety of phases of Diamond Dynasty conquests. The following are the phases:

Attack - This is the phase in which you can take over vacant territories as well as the territories of other teams. You'll need more than one Fan in a territory to attack it if it's unoccupied. If you do, you can move on to the next one. To take over the area of an enemy team, hover over it and choose whether to simulate or play a game. You take over the territory if you win the game. Keep in mind that you'll need a fan advantage if you don't want to meet the opposing team on a harder level.

Steal Supporters - During this phase, you can play another team and steal some of their fans to help you expand your area. The number of fans you can steal will be determined by the number of fans left on the other team, as well as the difficulty level you choose. During this period, however, you will not be able to take over a region.

Reinforce - This is where you can add more admirers to your own regions. Ideally, you'll want to strengthen areas that border the territories of other teams. You'll be able to successfully repel an onslaught from another fortress if you do this.

Move — During this phase, you can move fans from one of your controlled territories to another.

What else?

Traditionally, each Conquest has a set of objectives. The objectives are simple, and you should be able to achieve them just by filling out the map. Taking over a region's teams, for example, or earning a certain number of fans are examples. On the other side, certain goals are turn-based. This can entail capturing a team's home base in a certain number of attack turns.
