V Rising: How to get a horse
In V Rising, how can you get a horse? You've probably seen high-level players racing through your V Rising server's roads upon their noble steeds and wondered when you'll be able to do the same. Horses are an excellent way to travel quickly over the map, so getting one as soon as possible is a good idea. We'll show you where to find horses in V Rising and how to claim one for yourself in the sections below. We'll also discuss horse statistics and how to keep your horse safe and alive.
How to get a horse in V Rising
Horses do not spawn naturally in the Farbane Woods in V Rising, so you'll have to travel to the Dunley Farmlands to obtain your first mount. This place is significantly more deadly than the Farbane Woods, so make sure you're at least level 30 before entering there.
Horses can be found on many farms and in other locations of the Dunley Farmlands. When you come close to one of these areas, open your map and hover over it to discover what resources are available. If horses are listed, you've recently discovered a spawning location for horses. To claim a horse as your own, simply approach it and engage with it before riding it. This immediately makes it your own horse, and you can ride it back to your house, ready to embark on any future travels.
Horse stats in V Rising
You may see a horse's stats by opening your inventory while riding or standing near it after you've ridden it once. In V Rising, each horse has three stats:
- Max Speed: the maximum gallop speed of the horse.
- Acceleration: How quickly the horse reaches its max speed.
- Turning Speed: how quickly a horse can turn on the spot.
Because the stats of each horse are randomly generated when they are spawning into the world, if you want to pick the greatest horse available, you should ride each one at least once to compare their numbers and then return home with the best available.
How to keep your horse alive
Horses cannot survive without water. If you open your inventory when near a horse you own, you'll notice a 1x3 grid where you can place water-filled canteens in the right-hand window. A horse will slowly devour the water in its inventory, similar to how the Castle Heart consumes Blood Essence. A horse will only live for a certain length of time if it runs out of water. Fortunately, you can see how long the water in the horse's inventory will last in its inventory, giving you a sense of how often you should respond to the horse's requirements.
It's also worth noting that in PvP mode, horses can be taken and are vulnerable to enemy damage. Because horses cannot fight back, it is recommended not to leave your horse in the middle of a battleground, otherwise, you may find yourself returning to the Dunley Farmlands to acquire a new mount.
