Minecraft: How to defeat the Warden

In the Minecraft 1.19 update, a new big terrible boss has been added. While the Warden is difficult to defeat, we'll show you how to do it - and whether or not it's even worth it. The Warden, out of all the new features in Minecraft 1.19, has become one of the most divisive in the community. Players expected the Warden to bring a new challenge and rewards for beating it as the game's first boss since the Wither (unless you count the Ravager or Elder Guardian). This new monster, on the other hand, is significantly more difficult to fight than any hostile mob Minecraft has ever built.

Warden Minecraft health and damage stats

The Warden is the most powerful and tanky adversary you'll encounter in Minecraft. To begin, the Warden possesses 84 points of health, or 42 hearts, as opposed to the player's meager ten (or 20 points of health). This means that not only is the boss significantly tankier than you, but it is also the game's second-tankiest enemy (the ravager has 100 points of health). The Warden, on the other hand, can inflict up to 31 points of damage in a single blow, whilst the ravager can only cause 18 points of damage per hit at most. Not only will that damage kill a person in a single hit if they are unarmored, but it can also kill a player in two hits if they are fully equipped with Netherite armor.

How to defeat the Warden

How do you defeat the Warden, who has such great power and endurance? That's the cool part (to borrow a meme) - you don't have to. Instead of risking your life fighting the boss, most people who have encountered him advised sneaking around him instead. The Warden is a deafeningly blind mob that can detect vibrations. This means that by stooping and moving slowly, gamers can get around it. They can also utilize projectiles such as snowballs to divert the boss's attention, leading it into a trap or directing it away from the player.

How to kill the Warden

Is there any chance of victory if a player is forced to fight a Warden? Although the possibilities are minimal, it is possible to kill the warden. It is possible to set up a trap using TNT or the exploding end crystals to kill the Warden if you are able to slip away by distracting it. However, be cautious. To slay this mob, you'll need at least 8-9 end crystals (or around 12-14 TNTs) of destructive power.

Is it worth killing?

While the Warden's challenge is well worth the build-up, gamers have been disappointed with the results. Killing it nets you three orbs of experience, no special drops, and no achievement to brag about. This is why Mojang has always maintained that the Warden should be considered a threat to be avoided rather than defeated. While many players and content developers will devise ways to destroy it, most players will be better served if they wish to explore the ancient city by sneaking past the warden.
