Sonic Origins: How to Play as Super Sonic

Anyone who is familiar with Sonic the Hedgehog knows that there is a form of him called Super Form that surpasses his skills. He's quicker, stronger, and nearly unstoppable. In Sonic Origins, here's how you can play as Super Sonic.

How to Play as Super Sonic in Sonic Origins

You must acquire all seven Chaos Emeralds in order to play as Sonic's stronger version. Unfortunately, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and 3 (+ Knuckles) are the only games in which you can change into this form. Super Sonic didn't become a selectable character until the second game, therefore he won't be available in half of the titles in this collection. In terms of being playable, Super Sonic is available in the original game, but only through cheats. He is not accessible through typical gameplay.

After obtaining all of the Emeralds, you must collect a minimum of 50 rings, leap, and then Triangle (Y on Xbox, X on Switch) while in mid-air. The current tune will be replaced by the Super form song as your character transforms. Every second, your ring count decreases by one. The Super effect will wear off if you run out of rings or complete a level. Running out of time, getting squashed, drowning, or falling out of a level are all still ways to die.

To uncover the Giant Rings in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles, you must explore each level. Touching a Giant Ring will send you to Blue Spheres mode, which is the game's version of the Special Stage. All you have to do now is collect all of the blue spheres while avoiding any of the red ones. You'll be rewarded with a Chaos Emerald if you succeed!

How to Get Hyper Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails

If you have 50 rings, you can turn Super once you've collected all of the Chaos Emeralds. If you acquire all Emeralds and then go to Mushroom Hill, they will be relinquished to the Hidden Palace, which can be reached via rainbow Special Rings. You can no longer be Super, and you'll have to finish seven new Special Stages by touching a grey Chaos Emerald. By jumping on top of one, you'll be transported to more difficult versions of the Blue Sphere stages. You'll be able to restore the power of a Super Emerald after completing one.

You can become Hyper Sonic once you've restored power to all seven Super Emeralds. The mechanism is the same, but now you'll be surrounded by stars and glow like a rainbow, giving you invincibility. As Tails or Knuckles, you can also become Hyper. Depending on which way you point Sonic after triggering it, he can make a second jfump or a mid-air dash. Hyper Tails still acts the same, but now he's accompanied by a flock of Flickies who may attack foes and bosses. Hyper Knuckles still acts the same, but when he glides up against a wall, he now performs an earthquake attack. When he launches an earthquake, all foes on-screen are defeated.

Sonic's true last zone, "Doomsday Zone," is unlocked by collecting all Emeralds, whether in their normal or Super form. Tails' narrative mode concludes in the Death Egg Zone, while Knuckles' story mode concludes in the Sky Sanctuary versus Mecha Sonic/Super Mecha Sonic. In Sonic 3 & Knuckles, the characters' Hyper modes are the only ones available. Sonic 2: Sonic Origins is the only game in which Super appears.
