HOW TO SAVE THE QUARRY MAX: GENERAL TIPS

If you haven't finished the game yet, I strongly advise you to do so before attempting to follow my tutorial. As a result, it should go without saying that there are a lot of spoilers coming. It's also worth noting that this game has a lot of variables, and we can't guarantee that everything will turn out correctly for you unless we provide step-by-step guidance on how to play the game. For the most part, if you make the decisions we recommend and pass the majority of the skill checks in the game, you should be fine. There are only so many ways the game may go, and in the case of Max, you don't have to be too concerned. Even so, here's what you need to do to ensure Max sees the sunrise.

HOW TO SAVE THE QUARRY MAX: STAYING OUT OF DANGER

All things considered, keeping Max alive is rather simple. Max should make it through the night unless things go horribly wrong. The most important thing for you to do is appropriately deal with Caleb Hackett, but we'll get to that later. To begin with, it is clear that Max survives the events of the prologue. Max becomes a werewolf as a result of his encounter with Chris Hackett in the basement. When he and Laura escape, they head to Hackett's Quarry's central island. Max locks himself away in the treehouse to avoid injuring anyone when he returns later.

As a result, Max is safely locked away for most of the game. That is, until Emma discovers him, in which case you should consult our tutorial on how to save Emma in the Quarry to learn what to do. Play the game normally, with the goal of keeping everyone alive. When Chris Hackett is dead, every werewolf he produced will revert to human form. This includes Max, who, fortunately, has not been inflicting any serious harm on the island.

HOW TO SAVE THE QUARRY MAX: KEEPING HIM ALIVE

There is one time in the game where Max can die, and it feels more like mopping up than true death. In other words, if almost everyone else is dead, Max is doomed. In particular, if Dylan and Luara are slain, Max's chances are slim. If Caleb kills Dylan in werewolf form in the scrapyard, Max will encounter Caleb on his way to shore, and that meeting will not go well for Max. Max, in essence, requires Laura's protection. Unfortunately, it appears that if she isn't there, Max will be at the whim of a particularly enraged werewolf.

As long as you keep everyone else alive, especially Laura and Dylan, Max should be able to make it through the night. However, he may benefit from some better-fitting clothing.
